LESSON PROPER:

A. Greet students. Identify the tardy and absent ones.

B. Give the past participle of the ff. verbs:

  Check        Vote      Walk

  Watch       Wash    Brush

Change       Cook      Borrow

C.1. Let the pupils study the ff. sentences and let them compare.

a.) *The mosquito listened to it all from a nearby bush.

*The mosquito listens to it all from a nearby bush.

*The mosquito will listen to it all from a nearby bush.

b.) * The mosquito had

listened to it all from a nearby bush.

*The mosquito has listened to it all from a nearby bush.

*The mosquito will have listened to it all from a nearby bush.

2. What does column A show? In column B?

3. Take a look at how the past perfect tense of verbs are changed to present perfect tense and future perfect tense.

What do you notice about the verbs in the sentences?

*We always use the past participle of verbs in the past perfect, present perfect and future perfect tenses of verbs.

But how do we differentiate the past perfect, present perfect and future perfect?

4. a.) Group Work:

Complete the table (teachers discretion)

b. Choose three verbs and give their past perfect form. Then, take turns with your partner

Choose three (3) verbs and give their past perfect form. Then, take turns with your partner in using the theme “Saturday at Home”.

C. The present perfect expresses an action that was completed sometime in the past or is still continuing in the present. It is formed by using has/have + past participle from of the verb.

The future perfect describes an action an action that will still be completed sometime in the future. It is formed by using will/shall have + past participle form of the verb.

ACTIVITY:

A. Give the present perfect tense of the verbs in the parentheses.

1. We (read) a nice story.

2. He (buy) a pizza.

3. You (listen) to a nice pop song.

4. She (eat) a hot dog sandwich.

5. They (take) their skateboards.
